We arrived safe and sound.  Today was the first time four of the students had flown, but we only had one minor glitch at the airports and that was due to experienced fliers' mistakes!  It is cloudy but warm here.  After getting the shuttle, we checked into our hotel and enjoyed swimming in their indoor/outdoor pool while we waited for our ordered dinner to arrive.  Everyone was famished, so the various Chinese dishes were  consumed very quickly.  Students wanted to go back to the pool but they needed to write in their journals first.  I am going to try and get some photos on here and will write more (and use student's words) tomorrow.  A big thank you needs to  the WPSD and Scranton administrators for supporting science education and funding this trip.  Also kudos go to Erin M for organizing everything.  Most importantly we are grateful to all the parents/families for entrusting their children to us and allowing them to have this wonderful experience.  I am sure they will have lots of wonderful stories to tell and will learn a great deal this week!

  2. Glad you all arrived there safely. Yes, I want to thank WPSD for giving my daughter and as well the others this wonderful opportunity to attend this camp. I believe they will have a life-changing experience that they'll cherish for lifetime. I also want to thank Erin for preparing them prior. Lastly, I like to thank the chaperones, Julia and Nick, for guiding them. Have a great time, kids!
